Space Colony Project

Picture
NASA (National Aeronautic Space Administration) is the organization in the United States that explores and studies space. Right now, NASA has a competition for students to see who can come up with the best design for a space colony. We are going to participate in this competition.

This week, while Mr. Hawkins is in Austin for a technology conference, you will be learning about the challenges of humans living in space and what it would take to make a space colony. You will then design your own space colony. The students with the best projects will be selected to represent our school and we will submit these entries to NASA. Who knows, maybe one of you can be the winner!

This project is not something that can be completed in one day or even three days. It will take the ENTIRE week to complete this activity. You do not have any time to mess around and be off task. This project will count as a TEST grade. You need to do your best work. The substitute teacher will keep track of who is and is not doing their work. Those who fail to work will be given Refusal to Work forms and will be disciplined when Mr. Hawkins returns.

Below is a list of all the activity modules that MUST be completed in order to get the full points for this project. Please do these in order.

Module 1 - Humans Living in Space
Module 2 - What is a Space Colony
Module 3 - Designing your Space Colony
Module 4 - Exterior Space Colony Design
Module 5 - Interior Space Colony Design
